History La Causa, Inc. was incorporated in 1972. The agency started when a group of Hispanic mothers wanted quality child care for their children. In the begin¬ning, the agency served nineteen children. Today, La Causa serves more than 13,000 individuals annually through a comprehensive network of programs. La Causa is one of the largest bilingual, multicultural agencies in Milwaukee. We are committed to providing children, youth and families with quality, comprehensive services to nurture healthy family life and enhance community stability. Over 250 staff members provide a broad range of family-centered services, from early education and care to elementary and middle school education in a Charter School setting; from foster care recruitment, to mental health treatment services to parenting classes and support groups; and from ensuring children’s most basic needs are met to providing shelter and resources for families in crisis.
