Childcare
and Education Centers
At La Causa, children and families come first. That's why, with over 30 years of experience, we know that childcare involves much more than keeping children safe and supervised while parents are away.
La Causa provides quality-defining childcare that nurtures the healthy development of each child according to his or her individual needs. Our stimulating curriculum emphasizes early brain development, peaceful conflict resolution, and global diversity. Our skilled caregivers understand how children grow and learn, tailoring activities to fit each child's learning needs and style.
La Causa's commitment to providing the best for your children naturally extends to your family, too! We treat parents as partners and work with you to ensure the best care for your children. We encourage you to visit our classrooms and get involved!
Our two excellent childcare and education centers are located at 809 W. Greenfield Avenue and 839 S. 5th Street. Both centers have summer programs.

In
1999, La Causa became the first bilingual childcare provider in
Wisconsin to be awarded accreditation by the National Association for the
Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Accreditation by the nation's
oldest and largest organization of early childhood professionals is valid
for three years. La Causa was reaccredited in 2002, rejoining the
ranks of just 7% of all early childhood programs nationwide. The
NAEYC accreditation process evaluates health and safety, staffing and
qualification, and physical environment, but the most important criteria
are the children’s relationship with staff as well as how the program
helps each child grow and learn. Research
proves that children benefit more from NAEYC-accredited childcare
programs. La Causa was also declared one of 13 Governor’s Early Childhood Centers for Excellence in Milwaukee in 2000. The following year, the National Latino Children’s Institute named La Causa one of the nation’s most innovative and outstanding programs for Latino children and youth with its Promesa de un Futuro Brillante (Promise of a Brilliant Future) Award. Charter School Decades of experience in child development have led us to establish the La Causa Charter School, located at 1643 S. 2nd Street. Having functioned in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools since 2001, the school achieved official Charter status in September 2003. By 2005, we expect to serve 600 children from kindergarten through 8th grade. The La Causa Charter School is a community of learners. We believe that learning is a critical element for improving the quality of life in the community. Our goal is to provide the future metro Milwaukee workforce with a greater number of young professionals who are committed to civic responsibilities, socially aware, proficient in two languages, and dedicated to fostering healthy communities and neighborhoods.
