PRIMARY FUNCTION: 
JOB LOCATION: Charter School, 1643 S. 2nd St., Milwaukee, WI AND/OR other designated location (Location of position based on program need) PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting the Principal with the day-to-day operations of the school to include, but not limited to: educational leadership, communication, school and community relations, interaction with students, and other management issues.
PRIMARY DUTIES: 

Legend: E = Essential / NE = Non Essential / N/A = Not Applicable 1. Assist in providing leadership and support to the instructional program to include, but not limited to: development of curricular content, pilot programs, innovative instruction, master school schedule (room/teacher assignments, daily lunch schedules, transportation, etc.). E 2. Coordinate and supervise the school’s program of pupil control and discipline (i.e.; investigating incidents, resolving problems, utilizing resource personnel, etc.). E 3. Supervise, evaluate, coordinate, and train staff, as assigned and directed, in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the agency. E 4. Follow legal, organizational and contractual requirements, laws and policies (i.e.; National Core Standards, MPS Learning Targets, etc.). E 5. Meet with applicable stakeholders as needed for student discipline, including attendance (i.e.; parents, teachers, law enforcement officers, social welfare agencies, MPS, etc.). E 6. Plan, coordinate, organize, and/or supervise day-to-day operations to include, but not limited to: bus transportation, extracurricular activities, playground activities, pupil entry/exit, safety/security of grounds and students, parent volunteer/committee activities, fundraising activities, etc. E 7. Prepare, complete, distribute, and/or submit required items by due dates; to include, but not limited to: special event bulletins, activity changes, reports, statistical data, evaluations, Personnel Action Records, Worker’s Compensation reports and investigations. E 8. Implement the duties of a mandated reporter of suspected child abuse under current policies and procedures, as required. E 9. Attend all tours, meetings, workshops, professional society meetings, and professional development activities and perform training and presentations, as directed. E 10. Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration and cooperation with all stakeholders (i.e., parents, teachers, counselors, etc.). NE 11. Perform other duties as assigned. NE

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Master’s Degree in education. 2. WI DPI Certified in Educational Administration (License 51 or10) or ability to obtain within 2 years from date of hire. 3. Minimum 3 years Elementary/Middle administration and/or classroom teaching experience. 4. Knowledge of applicable sections of the State Education Code and other applicable laws and state and local curriculum requirements, including The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Administrator Standards (PI34.03). 5. Minimum 1 year Supervisor experience. 6. Bilingual (Spanish and English) strongly preferred. 7. Demonstrated critical thinking; able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. 8. Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and able to respond quickly and courteously. 9. Demonstrated abilities in word processing, spreadsheets and data bases with experience in using Microsoft Office suite. 10. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, interpersonal relationship skills, and ability to work effectively with others in a diverse cultural, linguistic and economic background; both in a team and individual environment. 11. Must successfully complete and pass all background checks to include, but not limited to: Criminal History, TB Testing, Physical, and drug testing. 12. Transportation, valid Wisconsin driver’s license, state minimum car insurance and must meet La Causa’s driver’s standards. 13. Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, depending on program needs.

NORMAL WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Work is generally performed in a school setting environment. Frequent walking, climbing, bending, standing, hearing, talking, seeing, arm movement, and writing/typing required. May be exposed to communicable diseases. Local travel required; some state-wide travel as needed. Flexible hours required; as dictated by program needs.
