Compliance and Research Specialist (OPENING DATE: 1/31/12 CLOSING DATE: Extended to Until Filled)

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 
Responsible for agency compliance to ensure that the organization and staff are current with all areas of compliance and for project research and analysis for special projects; as assigned by the President/CEO.
PRIMARY DUTIES: 

Legend: E = Essential / NE = Non Essential / N/A = Not Applicable 1. Manage and facilitate all aspects of agency compliance with legal, organizational, and contractual requirements (both internal and external) to include, but not limited to: ensure that all required permits, licenses, and certifications are current and renewed as required, review and monitor implementation of policies and procedures, determine if program(s) are in full compliance and act accordingly, etc. E 2. Collaborate, assist, and provide guidance to staff to include, but not limited to: develop internal compliance tracking and/or reporting tools, provide training, disseminate compliance information to all pertinent staff, provide interpretation of requirements/regulations, etc. E 3. Analyze compliance information as it relates to program services and budget. NE 4. Assist in the preparation, completion, and submittal of required items by due dates; to include, but not limited to: quantitative and qualitative reports, improvement plans, etc. E 5. Research, analyze, report, and follow-up on special projects and possible new program and partnership opportunities to include, but not limited to: potential mergers, new business opportunities, market based research and feasibility studies, zoning requirements, property acquisition, and other research, analysis. E 6. Establish and maintain good communication with all stakeholders (i.e.; co-workers, staff, community members, etc.). NE 7. Follow legal, organizational, and contractual requirements, laws and policies. E 8. Attend all meetings, committees, conferences, and professional development activities, as directed. NE 9. QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or other related field. 2. Minimum two (2) to three (3) years of professional experience in business administration, audit, policy, research or similar related work. 3. Bilingual, English and Spanish, highly preferred. 4. Demonstrated abilities in word processing, spreadsheets and data bases with experience in using Microsoft Office suite. 5. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, interpersonal relationship skills, and ability to work effectively with others in a diverse cultural, linguistic and economic background; both in a team and individual environment. 6. Excellent critical thinking; able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. 7. Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and able to respond quickly and courteously. 8. Transportation, valid Wisconsin Driver’s license, state minimum auto insurance and must meet La Causa, Inc. driving standards. 9. Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, depending on program needs. 10. Must successfully complete and pass all background checks to include, but not limited to: Criminal History, TB Testing, Physical, and drug testing.

NORMAL WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Flexible hours required; as dictated by program needs. Some local and state-wide travel and transportation is required.
