Early Education & Care Center

La Causa’s Early Education and Care provides quality, early education opportunities that foster the healthy development of children. Skilled teachers with an understanding of how children grow and learn tailor activities to fit each child’s learning style and needs.

Programs and Services

La Causa’s bilingual Early Education and Care Center nurtures children between the ages of four weeks and 12 years old. Open Monday – Friday from 5:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m., the center offers a variety of programs and services to children and families including: transportation, nutritious meals and snacks and family support services. The Early Education and Care Center follows the High/Scope curriculum, which guides teachers in their daily interactions with children. The High/Scope approach allows children to learn through key experiences and learning targets in a stimulating and bilingual environment. This program also offers parents the option of Before and After School Childcare to accommodate the busy work schedule of the families we serve.

• The Enhanced Childcare Head Start Option (E.C.H.O.), a year-round program, provides a seamless full-day high quality child care and Head Start program for children three and four years old. Through its curriculum, the E.C.H.O. program engages children in seven domains of learning including physical, emotional, social and cognitive development.
• The Early Childhood School, in partnership with MPS, provides innovative programs for children in K4 and K5. These programs follow the State of Wisconsin Learning Targets and incorporate a High/Scope Curriculum Approach in a bilingual environment, preparing children for school readiness.

During 2008:

• 900 children served at the Early Education and Care Center
• 72 children enrolled in the Enhanced Child Care Head Start Option (E.C.H.O.)
• 98 children enrolled in the Early Childhood School
• Provided transportation to 233 children
• Provided 166,633 meals
