LA CAUSA CHARTER SCHOOL SCIENCE SATURDAY A HIT

Milwaukee, WI – More than 150 community members and partners learned about the wonders of science and technology at La Causa Charter School’s Science Saturday event on May 21.

The free event engaged children, parents and community members in hands-on science activities that explored how to make compost, how groundwater contamination happens, and how an aquaponics system works – all things that students at our K5 through 8th grade school learn about every day in their science classes.

“This was a wonderful opportunity for the community to learn about science and to find out about the excellent science education that our children our receiving,” said La Causa President and CEO George A. Torres.

In addition to Sweet Water Organics, another partner agency that took part in Science Saturday was Artists Working in Education, Inc., which together with the La Causa Charter School Art Club unveiled two mosaics celebrating the roots of Latino culture. These mosaics will be added to the school garden.
