Family Resource Center
The goal of La Causa’s Prevention and Family Support Services is to develop, strengthen and support the quality of family life through a sustained culture of education, resources, shelter and advocacy keeping children and families free from all forms of abuse and neglect.
Programs and Services
La Causa’s Family Resource Center is one of the largest resource centers in Wisconsin and is fully bilingual (Spanish/English). The Family Resource Center assists, supports, and educates parents in responding to the physical, social and emotional needs of their children, in an effort to strengthen family life and prevent abuse and neglect.
- Empowering Families of Milwaukee targets high risk pregnant women and new parents by providing support to families to improve birth outcomes, infant health and parenting. This is made possible through a collaborative effort between La Causa’s Family Resource Center, Milwaukee Public Health Department, Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin and St. Vincent DePaul Family Resource Center.
- Hispanic Early Learning Program (H.E.L.P.) partners with La Causa’s Early Education and Care Center to provide additional support to children and families by providing assessments for all children, training of staff, encouraging the individual child and their parents. HELP is designed to achieve stronger families and optimal child development through coaching sessions, educational support groups and other valuable services.
- Additional services offered by La Causa’s Family Resource Center include: adult support groups and children’s play groups, educational workshops, parental care, nurturing programs, home visits, Parents as Teachers curriculum and toy and book lending library.
