Car Seats and Seatbelts

Each year, more than 50,000 children are injured or die in traffic related accidents in this country.

Children up to age 4 or who weigh less than 40 pounds must ride in a car seat.

A booster seat allows children weighing 30 to 60 pounds to buckle up more comfortably.

Many school buses are not equipped with seat buckles. It is important that you teach your children to stay seated at all times in a bus.

As of June 30, 2009 Wisconsin passed a law allowing police to pull drivers over, and ticket them for not wearing a safety belt.

You set the example for you children, make sure you are always wearing a seat belt.
