PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for overseeing and administering compliant employee benefit (non-compensation) programs that retain current staff and attract potential employees. Oversee, administer, and implement safety plans, procedures, and policies while complying with legal standards and provide direction and guidance to support and enhance a culture of safety awareness.
Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Coordinate benefits management (review/research/evaluate applicable benefit plans and make recommendations as needed, COBRA, tuition support program, employee referral program, annual employee evaluation review, New Employee Orientation, etc.). E
- Oversee and administer medical, disability, and/or other related requests (FMLA, ADA, etc.). E
- Lead all aspects of employee safety (Worker’s Compensation / OSHA, Safety Committee, safety procedures and policies, safety training, etc.). E
- Act as a representative and/or Departmental Liaison (including insurance brokers) for benefits and safety. E
- Back up for audits prep, tuition support request, employee data entry and documentation into HRIS system. NE
- Provide back up for departmental staff, as needed. E
- Prepare, complete, and submit required items by due dates. E
- Follow legal, organizational, and contractual laws and policies. E
- Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all stakeholders. E
- Attend all meetings and professional development activities, as directed. NE
- Follow all duties of a mandated reporter. E
- Perform other related duties, as assigned. NE
- Be a team player. E
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited school in Human Resources OR in related field.
- Two (2) years professional experience in the Human Resources field; specifically in Family Medical Leave (FMLA) and Americans with Disability (ADA) Acts.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish highly desirable).
- Excellent abilities in word processing, spreadsheets, and data bases with experience in using Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills, cultural competency, and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, highly developed organizational skills, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Able to occasionally work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends depending on program needs.
- Transportation, valid Wisconsin Driver’s license, state minimum auto insurance, and must meet La Causa, Inc. driving standards.
- Must successfully pass all background checks.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is generally performed in office and meeting environments, including frequent local travel; some State-wide/out-of-State travel may be needed. Flexible hours required; as dictated by program needs.
