PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for providing educational and employment support utilizing the Individualized Placement and Support model for individuals enrolled in the Early Intervention Program.
Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Engage clients and establish relationships with the goal of competitive employment in integrated community settings. E
- Assist individuals identify their history, strengths, culture, and skills as they relate to employment. E
- Work with the consumer to identify behaviors that interfere with the consumers’ work performance and develop interventions to address the problem behaviors. E
- Develop and foster relationships with employers on behalf of the consumer. E
- Spend at least 65% of time in the community with consumers. E
- Monitor and negotiate work placements and recruit potential employers for enrollees. E
- Follow legal, organizational and contractual requirements, laws and policies. E
- Complete/collect/process and/or submit required items by due dates. E
- Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all stakeholders. E
- Attend meetings and professional development activities. NE
- Follow all duties of a mandated reporter. E
- Perform other related duties as assigned. NE

Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Employment Specialist I - Associate degree from an accredited school in Social Services, Mental Health, or Business and minimum of one (1) year of experience providing mental health services.
Employment Specialist II - Bachelor Degree from an accredited school in Social Services, Mental Health, or Business and a minimum of (2) two years of experience providing mental health services.
Employment Specialist III – Master Degree from an accredited school in Social Services, Mental Health, or Business and a minimum of (2) two years of experience providing mental health services.
Able to work and communicate frankly and effectively with adults, families, and all team members to implement problem solving strategies, understand issues, and to provide crisis services in an ethical, respectful, responsible manner.
Able to demonstrate positive cultural intelligence with diverse groups and individuals.
Excellent critical thinking, organizational skills, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication, verbal and written, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with others.
Knowledge and experience with experience in using Microsoft Office suite.
Transportation, valid Wisconsin Driver’s license, state minimum auto insurance, and must meet La Causa, Inc. driving standards.
Must be able to successfully pass criminal history background checks.
Must be able to work flexible hours based on program needs.

The employee is regularly required to drive, stand, sit, reach, stoop, bend, and walk. Must be able to show proof (annually) of vaccination (or receive a medical/religious exemption) of Influenza.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is generally performed in field and office environments. Local travel required; some state-wide travel as needed. Flexible hours required; as dictated by program needs.
