PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for working with students of other languages to learn English and achieve literacy objectives (in their assigned grade level).
Primary Duties
Legend: E = Essential / NE = Non Essential / N/A = Not Applicable
- In collaboration with applicable stakeholders, develop, administer, and implement ESL approved, individualized, grade-level appropriate curriculum. E
- Provide ESL services through direct instruction to identified students. E
- Provide professional development to staff as requested. E
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the ESL program and/or curriculum. E
- Administer multi-level assessments and evaluations, specific to monolingual or bilingual instruction. E
- Prepare, complete, distribute, and/or submit required items by due (assessments, reports, statistics, records, etc.). E
- Comply with legal, organizational, and contractual requirements, laws and policies. E
- Attend meetings and professional development activities, as requested. E
- Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all stakeholders (ex: parents, teachers, co-workers, etc.). E
10. Follow all duties of a mandated reporter. E
11. Perform other related duties, as assigned. E

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (in English as a Second Language strongly preferred) from an accredited University or College.
- Valid WI DPI License in applicable area or ability to obtain/apply for emergency license within two (2) weeks from date of hire.
- One (1) year of experience working with students strongly preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred (required for Bilingual designated positions).
- Able to demonstrate positive cultural intelligence with diverse groups and individuals.
- Excellent critical thinking, organizational skills, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication, verbal and written, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with others.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Transportation, valid Wisconsin Driver’s license, state minimum auto insurance, and must meet La Causa, Inc. driving standards.
- Must be able to successfully pass criminal history background checks.
- Must be able to work flexible hours based on program needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is generally performed in classroom and school environments. Infrequent local/state-wide travel. Flexible hours required; as dictated by program needs.
